Daniel M. Capponi, DDS
For more than 10 years, Dr. Daniel Capponi has been committed to offering premier dental care to the Napa, CA, community. His expertise covers general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, pediatric care, and orthodontics. Dr. Capponi believes that everyone should have access to quality dental services and takes pride in helping patients reach their best dental health. At Silverado Dental Care, he and his team provide personalized attention, building long-lasting relationships that span generations.
Dr. Capponi earned his Bachelor of Science from St. Mary’s College of California before completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of the Pacific. He has pursued additional training in orthodontics and dental implants and is an active member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Napa Solano Dental Society.
A native of St. Helena, Dr. Capponi has lived in Napa since 2002 with his wife, Marisa, and their two children. Outside of work, he enjoys family time, skiing, traveling, participating in sports, and reading.
Jeffrey Hempel, DDS
Born in Seattle, WA, Dr. Jeffrey Hempel has deep roots in dentistry, inspired by his father’s long career as a dentist. After his father’s passing, Dr. Hempel continued the legacy by pursuing his own path in the field. He moved to Loma Linda, CA, during his childhood, later attending Pacific Union College in Angwin, CA, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and became a licensed pilot.
Dr. Hempel followed his father’s path to Loma Linda University, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery. After practicing with his father for a short time, he established his own practice in Southern California. Years later, he and his wife Cheryl relocated to Napa to enjoy a slower pace of life. Dr. Hempel finds fulfillment in helping patients improve their dental health.
Dr. Hempel has been married for over 30 years, and together he and Cheryl have three children. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys flying, cars, and spending time with family. Silverado Dental Care is delighted to have him on the team.
Sylvia Howard, DDS
Dr. Sylvia Howard joined Silverado Dental Care in 2025. She was born and raised in Washington State, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington, Seattle. Dr. Howard attended dental school at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where she received her doctorate in dental surgery. After her training, she completed a rigorous advanced education in general dentistry (AEGD) residency in rural Appalachia. She performed treatments ranging from fillings and dentures to endodontic retreatments, gum surgery, surgical extractions, implant placement, clear aligners, and more. Providing cutting-edge dentistry to the communities in this underserved area was deeply humbling and inspiring. Dr. Howard’s treatment philosophy is patient-centered, tailoring treatment for each person so they can prevent oral disease and maintain a long-lasting, beautiful, and functional smile.
Dr. Howard is a member of the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association. Coming from a family of educators, she values expanding her knowledge and skills through continuing education courses in sedation, implants, and more to provide safe and predictable modern dentistry.
Dr. Howard is proud to relocate to Napa and become part of the beautiful community here. When Dr. Howard is out of the office, she enjoys cooking elaborate meals and hosting dinner parties for her loved ones, expanding her record collection and enjoying live music, and playing with her adorable, adopted scaredy-cat, Ranna.
